7/8" connector for the transmission of supply voltages
Connectors are generally used to connect and disconnect electrical wires. For this purpose, the connectors are assembled with matching connector parts and are a reliable solution for a wide variety of applications for a secure connection to ensure electroconductive contacts, power and signal lines. In different materials, the robust connector housings differ in design, construction and size. In terms of design, the 7/8” connectors are available either angled or straight, which provides a high degree of flexibility during the installation process. The exact specifications such as cross-section, clamping range and dimensions with precise details of lengths and diameters enable a targeted selection to be made for the respective industrial applications in different areas such as in voltage and power supply and in automation technology.

7/8" connector as cable and panel connector
The 7/8"" connectors cover a wide range of applications in industry due to the different designs and shapes. As socket or pin, the straight or angled 7/8"" circular connectors are suitable for front wall mounting.
The screw connection ensures secure locking and prevents unintentional disconnection. Their service life is approx. 50 mating cycles. The robust housing offers two different materials. The thermoplastic plastic polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) has high impact strength and abrasion resistance. The zinc die-cast housing has a nickel-plated surface. In both housings, the insulating material consists of polyurethane (PUR), which has a very high mechanical strength and is resistant to oils and greases. Brass as the material for the contacts is characterised by its high corrosion resistance.
The circular connector can be used with a rated voltage of 300V and, depending on the version, with rated currents of 8, 9 and 12 A and can withstand temperatures from -25° C to 85° C. The cable outlet is either on the side or can be positioned straight. Equipped with the IP67 protection class, the 7/8"" circular connector is protected against dust and can be temporarily immersed in water.
Flexible assignment/coding for 7/8"" connectors
The 7/8"" connector coding controls the exact assignment of various cables that are connected to the connector. This means the signals of the individual cables can be defined exactly and prevents mismating. Different variants, 3-, 4- and 5-pin, allow individual coding of the various applications.
Available numbers of pins for 7/8"" cable connectors
Each application has its own requirements for signal and data transmission and it is necessary to bundle several of these data in one connector. This is regulated by the pins, which control data, information and signals in a targeted manner. The circular connector is available with the following numbers of pins:
- 7/8"" connector 3-pin (2+PE)
- 7/8"" connector 4-pin (3+PE)
- 7/8"" connector 5-pin (4+PE)
The compact cable can now be installed in installations with little space thanks to the matching cable or panel connector and ensures efficient data transmission.
