Amphenol ATP series: Performance with 2 or 4 contacts
The Amphenol ATP series is a special design within the Amphenol A series product family. The ATP connectors are compact rectangular connectors for 2 or 4 contacts. At up to 25 A, they can transmit higher currents than other versions of the Amphenol A series.
Accordingly, they work with larger conductor diameters from 14 to 10 AWG. For comparison: In the versatile AT series, the conductor cross-sections are AWG 20 to AWG 14. Amphenol ATP series connectors have proven themselves in industries such as commercial vehicle construction, construction and agricultural machinery, ship and boat building, railways and alternative energies. Their robust design and high cost-efficiency are of great benefit here.
An overview of the product categories and how the individual components are assembled can be found on the chart below.
Amphenol ATP series: Sealed for high protection class
All Amphenol connectors of the ATP series are sealed to IP 67. This is the result of an effective front and rear sealing with multiple silicone seal sets. This makes the connectors of the Amphenol ATP series well equipped for use under difficult conditions, even outdoors.
The versatility of the Amphenol ATP series is further enhanced by the large temperature range from -55 °C to 125 °C. In addition, the connectors are tested for thermal shock resistance: They can withstand at least 10 alternating cycles between minimum and maximum temperatures without any adverse effects. This means that they can be used, for example, in aviation, refrigeration technology and industrial processes involving high temperatures.
The housings of these Amphenol connectors are made of robust and UV-stable plastics. This is because there is a snap-lock system integrated in the housing. This fixes the connector in position and thus guarantees the permanent mechanical and electrical contacting.
