Braided sleeving
Braided sleeving convince thanks to robust fabric
Braided sleeving offers maximum protection of wires and cables and, thanks to its appearance, is mainly used when this protection is placed in visible locations. Whether complete cable harnesses or individual cable bundles, the braided conduit offers optimum protection for new installations or already laid cables. Due to its material composition, product properties and special features, it meets the most diverse requirements and is therefore widely used as electrical conduit.
The range is made up of various braided sleeving types. They differ in terms of material and requirements and can thus provide maximum cable protection.
- The braided sleeving made of galvanised steel wire is used for shielding
- The polyamide braided sleeving is halogen-free.
- The braided sleeving made of tinned copper wire is mainly used for chip protection
- The PET monofilament braided sleeving has UV-resistant properties

High-quality fabric protects cables and wires
However, it is not only the appearance that is decisive for installation in visible spots, the high-quality of the structure of the braided sleeve is also convincing. The braiding of the braided sleeving consists of round braided wires with double crossover in different braiding angles and offers maximum protection of cables and wires as round braiding. The black braided sleeve is axially compressible in a certain ratio and depending on the braid construction. The coverage of more than 85% makes it easy to pull in the cables. As a round braid for cable bundling, the braided sleeve offers protection against hot chips.
To determine the right braided sleeving for the respective application, the important specifications and respective applications are listed in the technical properties. While the tube construction is identical for all braided sleeves in order to ensure maximum protection of the cables and wires inside, some cable braiding also has a flame-retardant and halogen-free fire behaviour in accordance with UL:V2 as per UL94 and are thus self-extinguishing. The material is largely resistant to acid and solvents, oil and petrol, as well as UV-resistant and can therefore also be used in demanding installations.
Braided sleeving - Ideal protection for wires in many industries
The protection of cables and wires by a black braided sleeving is necessary in many applications. For example, the successful cable protection provided by braided sleeving is used in automation, plant construction, mechanical engineering, electronics, shipbuilding, vehicle construction as well as for injection moulding machines or machines working with stock removal.
Maximum cable and wire protection through Flexa braided sleeving is just a mouse click away.
FAQ - frequently asked questions about braided sleeving "
What are the properties of braided sleeving?
Braided sleeving can be compressed and tucked. Cable bundles can be threaded in easily. The compression helps them to enclose the cable tightly.
What diameters of braided sleeves are available?
Braided sleeving is available in the diameters 4mm - 80mm.
What is the area of application for braided sleeving?
They are used in both mechanical engineering and plant construction. Wherever a simple and quick bundling of cables as well as protection against influences is necessary. Cables and wires can be bundled easily and quickly with them. They also offer protection against environmental influences.
How is braided sleeving constructed?
This depends on the material used (plastic PA or PET, copper braiding or steel braiding).
What should be considered when choosing?
The requirements for shielding and mechanics should always be taken into account. The application is also decisive.
