Cable connectors brass
Brass cable glands: robust and reliable
The Lapp brass cable gland is characterised by its durability and the fact it does not require any maintenance at all. It is used in mechanical and plant engineering, as well as in electrical engineering and other branches of industry. It is used for dustproof and watertight feed-through and insertion of cables in housings and control cabinets. Brass is the material used in EMC cable glands as well as in Ex variants with ATEX certification for potentially explosive atmospheres. Depending on the requirements, Lapp and WISKA products comply with all the important standards, such as DIN IEC 62444 (VDE 0619).
How is a brass connector constructed?
Every cable gland, regardless of whether it is made of brass or stainless steel, usually consists of a clamping area, a cap nut, a sealing insert - e.g. made of polyamide and an additional O-ring. Depending on the model, a dust protection cover is also included
In addition to PG glands made of brass, brass cable glands are also available in NPT sizes as are commonly used in North and South America. Brass cable glands are also available in common metric sizes ranging from M8 up to and including M80.

Types of brass cable glands?
Split brass cable gland is ideal for pre-assembled wires that are to be retrofitted without any additional outlay.
Brass cable glands with an Ex abbreviation are used in potentially explosive areas. At the same time, cable glands according to ignition protection type Ex e fulfil the requirements of the standards DIN EN 60079-0 and EN 60079-7. In addition, the connectors, e.g. from the Lapp SKINTOP series are environmentally-friendly.
Furthermore, there are also EMC connectors made of brass or 90°-angled cable glands made of brass which allow you to route cables close to the housing.
What thread sizes are available for brass connectors?
Metric cable glands made of brass from WISKA and Lapp are available in the standard metric sizes from M12 up to M63. Common PG glands are available in sizes from PG7 to PG48.A brass cable gland with the size PG9 corresponds to a metric M16 cable gland. There is also a metric equivalent for the PG 7 connector in size M12 including a variant in brass.WISKA and Lapp offer a wide range of accessories for brass cable glands. The following products, among others, are optionally available for a cable gland: the matching seal or locking nut, as well as blanking and sealing plugs.
