NPT cable glands
The NPT cable glands with NPT threads and UL approval for the American market
Whereas an additional sealant such as Teflon tape or hemp is needed, for example, to ensure that PG cable glands are tight, the NPT cable gland already has this property. The self-sealing NPT thread works without an additional sealant and therefore provides a high degree of tightness. The designation NPT (National Pipe Thread) refers to a US American type of thread for self-sealing pipe fittings. This thread is made of plastic or else mostly of a robust material such as brass that first and foremost withstands external influences. The seal is achieved through the conical arrangement on the cable gland. To guarantee safe application both indoors and outdoors, the NPT cable glands come with the high protection class IP68.
NPT cable gland with convincing properties
The many convincing properties of the brass protector enable it to be used safely in a variety of areas. For example, there are versions with an integrated high degree of strain relief and bend protection, preventing the installed cables from being pulled out of the connector or coming loose on their own. The anti-twist protection also provides protection against vibrations. The NPT cable glands can be used without any problems within a temperature range from - 20° C to + 100° C, for a short time even from - 40° C. The easy-to-install connector has a large sealing area and clamping range and is primarily suitable for small cables or cables and wires with a shield.
One brass cable gland – many areas of application
NPT cable glands are used in a wide variety of industries. For example, they ensure that the cable connections are tight in the automotive industry, in sensor technology, in the chemical & pharmaceutical industry and in many other industries. This saves time and ensures that the work process goes smoothly.
