What is a spiral binding?

A spiral binding is a split protective tube for bundling cables & wires. As well as protecting the wires, it ensures cables are tidy and arranged in a clear way. This becomes important when work has to be done on the laid cables at a later point in time. The supple cable bundling tube can be used for the flexible bundling of large numbers of cables, up to a diameter of 50mm. The sturdy spiral binding also protects the cables from mechanical damage or influences of the weather such as thermal or chemical environmental influences.

The spiral bindings have outstanding product properties. Thus the material of the Flexa Spirale PE, the thermoplastic material polyethylene (PE), has a low density and good sliding ability. This means there is little wear. The high toughness and elongation at tear also makes laying more flexible.

The tube structure is a spiral and bundling binding which can be used in the temperature range from -40°C to 90°C, briefly even up to 100°C. The Flexa Spiral PE is available both as a transparent spiral binding and as a black spiral binding in many sizes and two different lengths.

Versatile applications in different industries

The spiral bindings are used for trades and installations where the later processing of installed cables is prevented by more difficult accessibility. In cable assembly and in control cabinet and plant construction, the spiral binding provides mechanical protection for moved wires in addition to bundling individual conductors. Thus this protective tube also ensures optimum bundling of wires in automation and robot technology as well as in vehicle construction.
