CEE plugs in 16A, 32A and 63A
CEE plugs are available in different sizes, corresponding to the maximum operating currents permitted in each case: 16A, 32A, 63A. Our CEE connectors are equipped with Quick-Connect screwless spring clamping technology and the Multi-Grip cable gland system. CEE connectors are divided into nominal operating voltages and frequencies by their identification colours. The two colours most commonly found on the market for CEE plugs are fire red RAL 3000 and sky blue RAL 5015.

CEE connector in fire red RAL 3000
The CEE connectors in fire red RAL 3000 cover the range of rated voltages from 380V to 480V. The CEE connectors we offer have coding at the 6 o’clock position. For pin number 3L+PE, the voltage at 380V is up to 415V and the frequency from 50Hz to 60Hz. For pin number 3L+N+PE, the voltage is 200/346V to 240/415V, with the same frequency. These connectors are available with 16 amps, 32 amps and 63 amps.
CEE connector in sky blue RAL 5015
The CEE connectors in sky blue RAL 5015 cover the range of rated voltages from 200V to 250V. The CEE connectors we offer have coding at the 6 o’clock position. For pin number 2L+PE, the voltage at 200V is up to 50V and the frequency from 50Hz to 60Hz. The connectors are available in a 16 Amp version.
What is the CEE clock?
To avoid accidentally coupling a CEE connector to the wrong socket, the position of the protective contact to the polarising slot of the socket collar is allocated to specific voltages and frequencies. The slot in the coupling collar and the corresponding nose on the connector ensure clear allocation. Die “CEE clock” is an illustrative representation of these allocations.
Quick Connect connection technology - The screwless spring clamp technology
The cage clamp technology, proven billions of times, is the basis for the Quick-Connect spring clamp technology from Bals. This means each size, whether CEE connector 16A, 32A or 63A, has a simple connection system for its respective conductor cross-section.
In size 16A, conductors of 1mm² to 4mm² can be connected using Quick Connect, in size 32A conductors from 2.5mm² to 10mm² and in size 63A conductors from 6mm² to 25mm².
The Quick Connect screwless spring clamp technology is open when delivered and thus can be used immediately. Simply pushing with your finger on the coloured lever (no tool required) completes the installation maintenance-free. Rewiring does not take much time either: Simply lifting the lever releases the conductor. In contrast to insulation displacement technology, this can be used without treating the conductor.
The short connection times achieved with Quick Connect and a maintenance-free operation are prerequisites for a time-saving and cost-saving result.
Advantages of Quick Connect at a glance
An overview of the advantages of the Quick Connect technology:
- Core sleeves are not necessary.
- the terminal accepts all types of copper conductor.
- the open terminals simply lock into place by pushing on the colour-coded lever and hold the conductor permanently and reliably in position.
- the pre-set contact pressure of the spring ensures damage-free, safe and controlled conductor clamping for the full service life
- rewiring is just as easy.
- Quick Connect is maintenance-free, secure against shocks, vibrations and temperature fluctuations in the harsh industrial environment.
The Multi-Grip technology of CEE connectors
The following principle also applies to cable entry: high quality and simple processing. The Multi-Grip cable gland system from the manufacturer Bals is available for CEE connectors 16A, 32A and 63A.
Self-locking and accidental loosening when inserting and removing is prevented by a buttress thread. The exposed surfaces for the necessary standard open-ended spanner are generously dimensioned. Despite optimum tension relief, the cable experiences gentle handling thanks to the 18 flexible louvres of the Multi-Grip connector. They adjust to the thinnest or thickest cable diameters when turned. Even standing water in the trumpet vent is no longer a problem thanks to the drainage openings fitted. Water can no longer penetrate when moving the cable.
