Amphenol A series: robust connectors for heavy-duty machinery

These Amphenol connectors are a key component for connections in harsh conditions. They are used, for example, in construction or agricultural machinery, in vehicle construction, boat- and shipbuilding as well as for rail and electric power engineering.

The Amphenol A series is used wherever mechanical and electrical performance are equally in demand. All Amphenol connectors in this range have been designed with robust housings for high reliability under difficult operating conditions.  

Wide range of connector configurations

The connectors from this series are assembled using different housings, retaining wedge and Amphenol contacts. Both machined and particularly cost-efficient stamped contacts are available. These are usually crimped.

The connectors are assembled either using automatic or a manual Amphenol tool. With the Amphenol tool selected to match the connector, the individual contacts are easy to assemble in the field. You can use the Amphenol crimp tool for the extremely straightforward crimping not only of Amphenol contacts but also of contacts from other manufacturers.

Large selection of robust connectors

The Amphenol A series covers several model ranges of connectors. These differ in different aspects such as maximum current rating. In addition, they stand out on account of their stable design.

The A series includes: the AT series, the ATM series and the ATP series.

• The AT series covers cost-effective and powerful connectors with up to 12 contacts. Their strengths include resistance to temperatures from -55 °C to +125 °C as well as impact and vibrations. The impact load resistance reaches up to 13A.
• Like the AT series, the ATM series is robust and cost-effective, but available in somewhat smaller designs. The technical values such as temperature range and the high temperature shock resistance correspond to the AT types. Differences are mainly the more compact dimensions of the ATM series.
• The ATP series has been designed for 2 or 4 contacts. At up to 25 A, they can transmit higher currents than the AT or ATM series. For this reason, they have conductor diameters from 14 to 10 AWG.  

Different versions depending on the area of application 
The connectors of the Amphenol A series range from versions with individual contacts through to multi-pin signal connectors. Connectors of the series AT and ATM are available with 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 12 contacts. The ATP series is designed for 2 or 4 contacts, but with even higher currents of up to 25 A.
