verdigris
Verdigris is the copper salt of acetic acid (copper acetate). It is soluble in water and only forms when vinegar is brought into contact with copper. Copper acetate is one of the few toxic salts of copper due to its high water solubility. The top layer on copper roofs is patina and not verdigris (all information without guarantee).
