H07Z-K single core cable – The halogen-free connection
To ensure that mobile consumers are permanently supplied with electrical energy, the main circuits required for the installation are connected to one another. In an electrical installation, this occurs by means of single core cables, which cover the requirements for the various assembly sections due to their product properties and quality and ensure a fault-free connection. Therefore, the single cores differ in the material used for the construction, the number of cores and the wire cross-section. This is mainly measured by the external stress the wires are exposed to and how or where they are installed. Therefore, the H07V-K stranded wire complies with DIN VDE 0299.
H07Z-K 90°C halogen-free single core – Impressive product properties for electronic connections
The high quality of the single cores is demonstrated in the cable construction. The strands of bare copper wire comply with the fine wire conductor construction according to VDE 0295, Class 5. The core insulation is a special halogen-free, cross-linked polymer mixture. Because the materials of the insulation of this cable do not contain any halogen, no corrosive gases are formed in the event of a fire. Only a low smoke density occurs according to IEC 61034.
The H07Z-K 90°C wire has outstanding product properties for the safe wiring of various end devices. In addition to inflammability according IEC 60332-1-2, the minimum bending radius in a fixed installation is 4.0 times the outer diameter to ensure the necessary flexibility for the installation. The single cores are available in different colours such as black, blue, green/yellow, brown, grey, dark blue, ultramarine blue, yellow, green, orange, pink, red, purple and white. This enables simple connection, and different functions can be assigned to the various colours during installation. The robust wire withstands temperatures from -15°C to 90°C. Compared to the H05Z-K stranded wire, it differs in the permissible rated voltage.
What does the designation H07Z-K 90°C mean?
The letters and numbers in the product designation help to precisely determine the right single core for the respective application. The letters stand for the cable’s properties and the materials used; the numbers specify the number of cores and their size. The H07Z-K single core cable can be translated as follows:
- H – harmonised cable designation, the type identification is valid throughout Europe in accordance with the (HAR) DIN standard VDE0281/0282/0292
- 07 - designates the rated voltage, here the approval for 450V between the outer conductor and the earth potential (PE), and 750V between the outer conductors
- Z – wire/core insulation made of halogen-free, cross-linked polyolefin compound, heat resistant to +90° C
- K – fine wire, i.e. flexible, for fixed installation
Areas of application of H07Z-K single core cable
Die single core is available in the online shop in the colours listed in wire cross-sections of 0.5 mm², 0.75 mm² and 1.0 mm². The right product ensures smooth cabling of assembly sections on and under plaster, in conduits and in closed installation ducts in plant and appliance manufacturing, in machine manufacturing, in switchgear and in switch cabinet manufacturing, as well as in terminal boxes and internal appliance wiring. The wire is ideal for installation in buildings with a high concentration of people or material assets.
