Creation of a Harting Han-Modular® connector
In the Han-Modular® series from Harting, a system of modular inserts, contacts, modular frames, modular housings and accessories ensures flexible and space-saving specific solutions with easy maintenance and low costs.
Harting modular connectors - Highly flexible contacts
Connectors can be configured via the Harting Han-Modular® system with standard modules for a variety of applications. Depending on the requirements, power transmission, signal transmission, high-voltage applications, coaxial cables, bus signals, Ethernet cables, patch cables, USB cables and pneumatic modules can be combined in one connector. As a result, this system meets the requirements for a modern, flexible and modular connector.
It is therefore possible to combine anindustrial connector as required. Depending on the size of the modules, up to 12 items can be combined in one connector. The far more than 50 combinable modules offer an almost endless number of possible variations. Always in the Harting Han housing with protection classes up to IP65 and thus ideal for harsh industrial environments. Modules with crimp terminal, axial screw terminal, Han-Quick Lock® terminal, cage clamp terminal, and for applications in the area of fibre optic cables, D-Sub, pneumatics or coaxial lie next to each other as desired. Holder frames or special housings combine the modules.
Technical possibilities of the Harting Han Modular Connectors
- Power modules cover the power range of up to 200 amps
- industrial connectors with up to 300 contacts can be made from individual signal modules with a maximum pin number of 42
- shielded modules provide separate shielding within the modular connector
- High-voltage modules allow voltages of up to 500 volts
- Coaxial modules for 50 Ohm and 75 Ohm, clamping range of up to 9.5mm
- Combination of Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet cables with shielded modules or via patch cables for Profinet and Ethernet
- USB cables or specific adapter modules
- Pneumatic modules of up to 8bar and hose internal diameters of up to 6mm
Han-Modular® – robust connector housings
Practical and efficient solutions are particularly in demand in the area of housings. Harting hoods and housings are the optimised protection against dirt and extreme environmental factors such as sparks, dust or water. The portfolio extends from the die-cast aluminium housing to the special housing made from stainless steel. The modular connector system grows with every new requirement and reduces material and installation costs. The compact and space-saving Han® Snap housings have been developed for varied installation solutions. The corresponding Han® contact inserts can be connected without tools either as a screw terminal, with cage clamp technology or as quick-lock technology. Alternatively, the Harting Han system also offers a wide range of crimp terminals.
Ergonomics and craft
Matching tools, small parts and accessories for connection technology seamlessly complete the options offered by Harting Han-Modular®. The tools for installation and removal, whether for cutting or pressing, have a robust and ergonomic design.
