Heat shrink tubing by the metre
Heat shrink tubing by the metre – straightforward and efficient
It is straightforward to use and highly efficient at the same time – heat shrink tubing by the metre offers numerous solutions for the repair of defective cables or classic markings. It can be used to restore damaged cable insulation, for example, and as additional protection for an assembled connector. Heat shrink tubing by the metre prevents soiling, provides ideal marking and guarantees cable protection. In addition, heat shrink tubing protects against short circuit, since it prevents the penetration of moisture up to a certain degree. Heat shrink tubing by the metre is also ideally suitable for sensitive wiring and electronic components. It is used across all industries and as an effective solution by electrical fitters and electricians among others.
Shrink rate and shrink temperature of the heat shrink tubing by the metre
Shrink rates 3:1 and 2:1 are available in different sizes. Whereas with shrink rate 3:1 the maximum width is 39 mm and is as maximum of 13 mm after shrinking, it is significantly larger for the heat shrink tubing 2:1. The largest heat shrink tubing 2:1 available has a maximum size of 4 inches i.e. 102mm. In shrunk state, it is 51mm.
The shrink temperature should be at least 70°C. The material used, steel cross-linked polyolefin, has a temperature resistance of between -55°C and +125°C. When hot air is supplied, it shrinks, resulting in optimum protection and insulation. The large range of colours includes black, blue, red, green, yellow and white, transparent as well as green/yellow, brown, grey, orange and violet. The most popular products are black heat shrink tubing and green/yellow heat shrink tubing.
Application for maximum material protection
To ensure optimum use for the respective applications, parameters such as the specified shrink rate, suitable diameter, total quantity of tubing required as well as the specified limit temperature for sensitive components should all be taken into account.
Important parameters for processing the goods
The thinness of the walls of the heat shrink tubing by the metre provides high flexibility and is very resistant to chemicals and solvents. The fire behaviour is flame-retardant according to UL VW1 / CSA FT1. Further suitable sizes for processing are the heat shrink tubing box or the heat shrink tubing roll. To get started, the heat shrink tubing starter kit is recommended.
Find the suitable product for your application among the wide range of products. Whether the white heat shrink tubing by the metre or coloured heat shrink tubing by the metre is better suited to the application – they all guarantee maximum success.
