Ilme contact inserts
Contact inserts are made from UL-certified, self-extinguishing, fibreglass-reinforced plastic and have an operating temperature range between -40 °C and +125 °C.
The contact inserts CME (all) and CMCE (only 16+2-pin) for 830 V are fitted with a lug that prevents them being inserted for applications other than those described (types CM – Pg and MM – metric).
For special applications at temperatures up to 180 °C, contact inserts made from PPS (polyphenylene sulphide) can be supplied upon request for some series. The profile of the contact inserts with reverse polarity protection prevents incorrect insertion thanks to the asymmetric guides.
The contact positions are labelled by laser-printed numbers on both sides or by stamps.
Contact inserts made from self-extinguishing, Ul 94V-0-certified, fibreglass-reinforced thermoplast for maximum operating temperatures of 125 °C. Special versions made from PPS for maximum operating temperatures of 180 °C.
Available with screw terminal, crimp terminal or cage clamp terminal. The contacts are made from silver-plated or gold-plated brass. The contact inserts are numbered on both sides by laser-marking or shaping.
The large number of versions of contact inserts results from the division into rated voltages (50 V – 5000 V), rated currents (5 A – 200 A max.), pin numbers and different load combinations (power and signal pins in the same contact insert). The contact inserts are certified corresponding to the applicable safety standards of various testing institutes such as UL, CSA, DNV-GL, Bureau Veritas, CQC and EA.
