Safe and robust key switches from Schlegel
Whenever industrial systems and machinery need to be protected from third-party access, key-operated lock switches are the optimum solution. We offer industrial key switches from Schlegel with the following switch functions: Latching function, spring function, or with spring and latching function.
What is a key switch?
By turning the key, the switch can be moved to different positions that allow the opening or closing of an electric circuit. The switching operated by the on-off key switch remains concealed behind the key switch.
How does a key switch work?
Typically, key switches have two switch positions that are triggered by turning the key. For more complex switchings, there are also key switches with three or four switch positions. In principle, a distinction is made between latching and momentary key switches. The former remain in the position selected by the key and lock in place. Momentary industrial key switches are also moved into position with a key but then return to their original position (zero position).
What are key switches needed for?
Key switches and key-operated lock switched are used whenever a switching process is only permitted for authorised persons. In this way, machinery and industrial systems that represent a potential source of danger can be protected against third-party access. Areas that are only accessible by an electric gate or a lift can also be secured against unauthorised access.
How is a key switch connected?
To integrate them into a circuit, most key switches need to be fitted with terminals for blade connectors or are designed for connection via M12 connectors.
