What is a push-button switch / push button?
Switches and buttons that are manually activated open and close electric circuits and can be used as a component of multiway switching. A distinction is made between opening and closing models.
How does a push-button switch / push buttons work?
Buttons and switches are different in terms of their fundamental functioning. If the control element of a switch is activated, it locks in place and remains in this position until it is returned by finger pressure to its original position. By comparison, buttons open and close an electric circuit only as long as pressure is exercised on the control element.
What are push-button switches / push buttons needed for?
Switches and buttons from Schlegel, which are activated by pressure on the control element, are always used whenever an electrical connection has to be established, disconnected or changed quickly by finger pressure.
How is a push-button switch / push button connected?
Depending on the model, our push-button switches and push buttons have terminals for blade connectors, M12 connectors or a screw terminal. The terminals for crimp blade connectors are usually available in two different sizes: 2.8mm x 0.5mm, and 2.8mm x 0.8mm.
What types of push-button switches / push buttons are there?
- illuminated push buttons: available in round and square designs with a button stroke of 2.3, 3, 4 and 6 mm. In addition to illuminated models from the RX-Juwel and OKTRON-R series, we also offer push buttons with ring illumination. Depending on the model, the illuminated Schlegel switches have ring lighting or a fully illuminated control element.
- Push button labels: ideal for complex control panels with a wide range of functions. We offer models with both momentary and latching functions, as well as with the following contact types: 1 NC contact, 1 NC contact + 1 NO contact, 1 NO contact, 1 changeover contact, 2 NO contacts.
- Momentary push-button switch: in round or square design with connections for spade connectors (2.8mm x 0.5mm or 2.8mm x 0.5mm). Optionally available with a button travel of 1mm, 2.3mm, 3mm or 6mm, made of aluminium, plastic, stainless steel or die-cast zinc.
- Latching push button: available in a round design for installation openings with a diameter of 22.3mm and M12 connection, optionally made of aluminium, plastic, stainless steel or die-cast zinc.
- Push buttons with 2.3mm, 3.0mm or 6.0mm stroke: we offer switches and buttons with a button stroke of up to 6mm, optionally as double push buttons and in round and square designs.
- Sizes / installation openings round 16.2 mm, 22.3 mm, 30.5 mm: depending on the sizes of the control panel and the available installation opening, we offer push buttons|push-button switches with a diameter of 16.2 mm, 22.3 mm or 30.5 mm .
- Sizes / installation openings square 23x23 mm, 24x24 mm, 26x26 mm: We offer push buttons|push-button switches and push buttons for square installation openings of up to 26mm x 26mm or rectangular openings with sizes of 47.5mm x 22.5mm.
