Phoenix Contact UT screw connection terminal blocks
Phoenix Contact UT screw connection terminal blocks provide a high degree of flexibility due to the multiple conductor connection. Due to the snap-on PE foot and uniform plug-in bridges , you will save a lot of time during installation with the UT screw connection terminal blocks. Screw terminal connections belong to the global technology standard. The Phoenix Contact UT screw connection terminal block gives you a maintenance-free conductor connection, without any tightening of the terminal screws. Due to the high contact force, even cross-sections of up to 240 mm² can be wired gas-tight.
Screw connection – for multiple conductor connection and high contact force
The screw connection technology is universally applicable: UT screw connection terminal blocks are designed to meet the highest standards and have been in permanent use as a connection technology for more than 80 years. The connections are made of high-quality, stress-crack- and corrosion-resistant copper alloys. With a good electrical conductivity, only a little heat is generated. The maintenance-free screw connection is protected against self-loosening by the Reakdyn screw locking mechanism developed by Phoenix Contact. It is not necessary to tighten the screws.
The advantages of screw connection technology:
1. Extremely time- and space-saving
A multiple conductor connection of the same cross-section is possible with screw connection technology. All kinds of copper conductors (including with splicing protection) can be clamped without pre-treatment.
2. Wiring of large cross-sections
The maintenance-free UT screw connection for terminal blocks has proven itself with regard to the wiring of large cross-sections. Conductors with a cross-section of up to 240 mm² can be wired gas-tight and with long-term stability – thanks to high contact force and large contact areas.

Connection principle of the UT screw connection terminal blocks
Phoenix Contact screw connection terminal blocks are designed to meet the highest standards. They have proven themselves for more than 80 years in many applications. Their key characteristic is the maintenance-free conductor connection. It is not necessary to tighten the terminal screws. Self-loosening is prevented by the Reakdyn principle. The locking mechanism using elastic elements is a technology developed by Phoenix Contact.
Phoenix Contact UT screw connection terminal blocks can be clamped without pre-treatment. Splicing protection in the form of ferrules is also possible. One strength of the screw terminal body is the multiple conductor connection. Even very large conductor cross-sections of up to 240 mm² can be wired gas-tight and with long-term stability thanks to the high contact force.
Material properties of UT screw connection terminal blocks
The metal parts of the Phoenix Contact UT screw connection terminal blocks are made of high-quality, tension-crack- and corrosion-resistant copper alloys. Cell formation in the event of moisture is ruled out. Consequences such as unreliable electrical contacts and/or jammed screws are avoided. A good electrical conductivity prevents heating. The surface of the metal parts is protected by a lead-free, electroplated nickel or tin layer.
The insulation housing of the Phoenix Contact UT screw connection terminal blocks is made of recyclable PA 6.6. This elastic and shock-resistant plastic is halogen-free and UV-resistant. It has a high chemical resistance, excellent ageing characteristics and a good termite resistance, as well as being suitable for use in the tropics. Polyamide 6.6 can be used for service temperatures up to 130°C and is certified for the flammability rating V0 in accordance with UL 94.
