Signalling technology: warn, protect, guide
Whether in logistics, building technology or mechanical and plant engineering, signalling technology plays an important role everywhere. This is because visual and acoustic signalling technology ensures safety by warning and guiding people.
Especially in automated processes or on machines, signalling technology can monitor complex processes and serve as a warning device in the event of faults. In addition, the rapid response to a visual or audible signal can significantly reduce waiting times or downtimes.
The signals can be set in different colours so that those responsible know immediately what the status is. Just like a traffic light, a red light means - attention, quick action required.
From the checkout system to the tunnel - where is signalling technology used?
Optical signalling elements warn and protect people in their surroundings and reliably indicate various operating conditions such as faults or material shortages. Signalling technology is used in assembly systems, for example in the automotive industry, at checkout systems or in tunnels. Thanks to high IP protection classes, they can also be used outdoors without any problems, for example on industrial gates that need to be protected against vandalism. In combination with acoustic signalling devices, they are highly effective warning devices.
The LED technology ensures recognisability even in difficult lighting conditions such as extreme sunlight. Thanks to the modular design of the signal towers, retrofitting with additional elements at a later date is no problem.
Signal technology products - signal towers and signal lights with or without cables
When selecting signal towers, it is important to consider how many modules (colours) are required. In addition to the standard traffic light colours of red, yellow and green, additional modules are available in white and blue. These can be combined as required and customised to the respective requirements. Thanks to the intense luminosity of the large modules, the signal can also be perceived from a greater distance. If audible signalling is required in addition to visual signalling, the signal towers can also be equipped with a buzzer module.
In contrast, the necessary cables for direct mounting are already attached to the signal lights. The signal light with integrated buzzer is therefore very easy to install thanks to the simple wiring with the connection cable. In contrast to the signal tower, it is small and compact.
Further accessories such as brackets and markers for the signal towers are useful additions. It is advisable to label the individual light modules conspicuously with appropriate designations. Depending on their use and purpose, signal towers can also be put together in modular form. There is a selection of modular individual parts available for this, such as matching brackets, domes in different colours and base bodies with and without directly attached cables.
