Switches & buttons from Schlegel for industrial application
Our range comprises acoustic signalling devices, push-button switches / push buttons, membrane switches, toggle switches, emergency stop switches and key switches. We supply selector switches, rotary switches, foot switches, foot pedal switches as well as short-stroke pushbuttons for almost every application purpose.
What is the difference between switches and buttons?
Switches remain in position after they have been actuated. Buttons return to their original position after actuation and are often used as pulse generators.
How do switches and buttons work?
A switch closes or opens a connection permanently, whereas buttons open or close a current circuit temporarily and then return automatically to their initial position after actuation.
What are switches & buttons needed for and when are they used?
Whereas buttons are used as a pulse generator in a current circuit, switches open or close a power circuit permanently when actuated, and the state remains until they are actuated again.
How are switches or buttons connected?
Switches and buttons have different connection technologies. Screw connections, M12 connectors as well as connection springs for blade terminals are widely used.
What types of switches are there?
- Acoustic signalling devices: Signalling devices for round and square installation openings with a diameter of 16.2mm and 22.3mm, for square openings with 23mm x 23mm or 24mm x 24mm.
- Push-button switches / push buttons: We supply industrial switches and emergency stop buttons with the contact types: 1 NC contact, 1 NC contact + 1 normally open, 1 normally open, 1 change-over contact as well as 2 normally closed.
- Panel mount jack: Panel mount jacks with HDMI, USB, RJ45 or RS232 port as well as jack inserts for Fire-Wire devices and other connections.
- Membrane switches: Illuminated and non-illuminated membrane switches in a round design, with a choice of 1.5mm or 2.3mm switch stroke.
- Industry 4.0 components: Robust panel mount jacks and connectors for the RJ45 port as well as for the use of WiFi antennas or with integrated, capacitor microphone.
- Incremental encoder / capacitive button available as illuminated, capacitive button, as well as incremental encoder in round design for construction openings with a diameter of 22.3mm
- Toggle switches: In square or round design for square and round installation openings with a diameter or up to 30.5mm or for cut-outs of maximum 26mm x 26mm.
- Emergency stop switches: Available in versions with key, light, label and made of either aluminium or plastic.
- Mushroom buttons: Large manual button with mushroom-shaped operating element, available as models with momentary, maintained as well as momentary + maintained function.
- Potentiometer / rotary switch drive: Available in round, square and rounded square design, with a choice of 3mm or 6mm stroke.
- Key switches: We supply models with the following contact types: 1 or 2 normally open, 1 NC contact + 1 normally open.
- Selector switches / rotary switches: Available in round, square and rounded square design, with a choice of maintained, momentary as well as momentary + maintained function.
- Sizes / installation openings round 16.2 mm, 22.3 mm, 30.5 mm: Switches and buttons for installation in switch panels or systems with round installation openings of maximum 30.5mm
- Sizes / installation openings square 23x23 mm, 24x24 mm, 26x26 mm: Industrial switches and buttons for installation in switch panels or systems with square installation openings of maximum 26mm x 26mm.
- Switch housings and foot switches: Robust housing made of plastic, stainless steel, with easy-to-operate foot switches as well as Minibox/Proboxx, or ISO-conform housing.
