ecomate – one brand – several type series
The typical features of the Amphenol eco|mate series include the pin numbers 3 + PE (4-pin) and 6 + PE (7-pin). The circular connectors all achieve IP 65 or IP 67 when plugged in. This makes these circular connectors ideally equipped or protected for industrial environments with dust or splashwater.
The connectors are available in straight and angledversions. The housings have been designed for cable diameters from 6 mm to 12.5 mm. In addition to the standard versions, ecomate is available as high-voltage versions, overmoulded (OP 65/67) as well as the “Aquarius” series for maximum tightness up to IP 69K.
Compatible with type series C016
Connectors of the ecomate series are compatible with the model series Amphenol C016. These circular contacts have a plastic housing and are usually used as device connectors.
Type C16-3, for example, is an industrial connector for harsh environments. These types achieve protection class IP 65 when locked. The contact inserts can be removed and reinstalled or replaced using an extraction tool. This enables repairs in the field. A special version of the Amphenol ecomate is the C16 2 + PE. This achieves IP 67. For this reason, it is used particularly outdoors, especially in solar technology.
Connection technologies with ecomate connectors
Amphenol ecomate connectors are available for crimping, screwing and soldering. This means they are available in every common connection type. They are suitable for processing on soldering stations, for crimping on machines in series as well as for manual crimping or screwing on site. Crimping by hand is best done with crimp tools that are matched to the respective connectors.
