Harting Han Brid series - for industrial communication
The Han-Brid® series combines a data and energy interface in a very compact space. A 50 V power supply can always be connected in the Han Brid® connector family. The current carrying capacity of the power supply is 10 A for all components, so nothing stands in the way of a bus structure with max. 50 V voltage supply to decentralised modules. There are several transmission media available for data transmission in the Han-Brid® family:
- Han-Brid® F.O. for fibre optic cables made of plastic or with HCS®* fibre
- Han-Brid® Cu for the use of shielded twisted pair wires
- Han-Brid® Quintax 3 A for coax cables with large diameter
- Han-Brid® Quintax 3 A for four- or eight-wire bus systems with complete shield connection
- Han-Brid® RJ45 C for Ethernet applications
- Han-Brid® USB / FireWire for fast data exchange
The contact inserts can be used both in standard plastic or metal hoods and housings with glued seal of the Han® 3 A series. The protection class of the hoods and housings corresponds to DIN EN 60 529, IP 65. The Han® 3 HPR hoods and housings are available for higher requirements. These achieve protection class IP 68.

Crimping tools: Note on use of crimping technology
The specified wire cross-sections refer to the geometric cross-section of the cable or wire used.
Assembly instructions
1. Strip the cable and double the shield braiding back.
2. Crimp the Han D® contacts on.
3. Make the Han D® contacts latch into the corresponding contact chambers of the insulator.
4. Insert the insulated body with cable into the opened shield hood. The coding lug of the shield hood must engage in the longitudinal groove of the insulated body.
5. Use the clamp (small opening for cable outer diameter from 3 ... 6 mm, large opening for cable outer diameter from 6 ... 9.5 mm) to clamp the cable to the doubled-back shield braiding.
6. Check wiring. Close the shield hood with the cover and insert into the corresponding chamber of the Quintax module.
