Han Eco Modular hoods and housings
Modular inserts for Han Eco Modular
Han Eco hoods and housings made of high-performance plastic
Han-Eco® is a housing series manufactured from high-performance plastic. Due to its high resistance to environmental influences, it is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. The material plastic offers considerable weight and cost advantages compared to classic metal housings.
Advantages:
- Time and cost savings due to option of rear mounting
- Weight reduction due to plastic instead of metal housing
- Separate pre-fabrication of entire cable harnesses possible (since contact insert with holding frame can be locked into place from the rear)
- Reduction of production costs due to improved distribution of work
- No time lost when converting to plastic housing due to mating compatibility between metal and plastic
- Plastic is corrosion resistant
- Fire resistant according to UL94 V0
Properties:

Locking element | Polyamide, glass fibre reinforced |
Housing seal | NBR / FPM |
Temperature limits | -40°C to +125°C |
Flammability according to UL94 | V0 |
Protection class according to DIN EN 60 529 when locked | IP65 |
Han-Eco® Modular
With Han-Eco®, modular interfaces can be placed in the plastic housing. The connectors of the Han-Modular® series snap into a plastic frame embedded in the housing, without the need for tools. A hinged frame like that used on the Han® B is not needed. With the combination of Han-Eco® and Han-Modular®, users can quickly assemble a wide variety of interfaces for a “hybrid” supply to machines with data, signals, power and compressed air. The solution provides a lot of contact in small installation spaces: In each of the four standard sizes, there is room for one more module than in the equivalent counterpart of the Han® B Standard or Han-Eco® B series.
Han-Eco® monoblocks "

Han-Eco® A
Thanks to its slim design, the Han-Eco® A series offers an attractive plastic alternative for many applications. In addition, Han-Eco® A – like Han-Eco® B – also makes the simple, time- and space-saving assembly of connectors in bulkhead mounted housings possible. The frame with pre-assembled insert latches from behind into the bulkhead mounted housing fixed to the control cabinet. As well as assembly from the rear, the “conventional” type of assembly from the front is still possible of course.

Han-Eco® B
The Han-Eco® B series is completely compatible with the industrial standard Han® B and available in sizes 6B to 24B. Both standard inserts and modules can be used with the hinged frame of the Han Modular® range. Like Han-Eco® A, Han-Eco® B makes the assembly of contact inserts in the bulkhead mounted housing possible from the rear. During installation of a control cabinet, for example, the prepared ends of the harnesses from inside the control cabinet can be assembled – from the rear – in the bulkhead mounted housing.
This option makes control cabinet assembly easier and helps save costs. The control cabinet units – including bulkhead mounted housing – and cable harnesses can be pre-assembled separately – and put together quickly at the usage location. Better division of work is possible. If required, further processes can be outsourced.
The series Han-Eco ® B is a new series of hoods and housings within the Han-Eco ® portfolio in sizes 6B – 24B. It is completely compatible with the industrial standard Han ® B. Both standard inserts and modules can be used in connection with the hinged frame from the Han-Modular ® range.
Highlights Han-Eco ® B
- Downward-compatible with Han ® B metal housings
- Assembly of the contact inserts from the rear make short installation times possible
- Low weight coupled with very good mechanical robustness
- Outdoor variant increased environmental loads available
- Safe assembly thanks to “Click and Mate”

Plastic and metal variants completely compatible
Important advantages result from the inserting compatibility of Han-Eco® B plastic and Han® B metal housings. This compatibility ensures that there are no friction losses when switching from metal to plastic housings. Testing devices already available can be used for both variants without any adaptation being necessary.
