Han® GND – pluggable equipotential bonding
With the new Han® GND, it is now possible to achieve pluggable earthing systems. Han® GND (Han® Ground) is the innovative Harting solution for equipotential bonding. With the new connector series, earthing systems with a pluggable design are now possible for the first time.
The use of connectors has been established in the electrical cabling of plant and machinery for many years. The advantage is quick and fault-free commissioning. However, equipotential bonding cables are still permanently connected, which is relatively time-consuming and can be subject to errors. Harting now provides a remedy to this with Han® GND. The one-pin connector in a robust IP65 protected plastic housing is designed for stranded wires of 10 - 35 mm² and is available in either a crimp connection or an axial screw connection. The latter has the advantage that the wires can be connected without a special tool. A secure and permanently reliable connection can be achieved quickly and easily with a simple screwdriver. The connector can be safeguarded with unlocking protection, which protects against unintended opening.

1. Strip the wire for a length of 13 mm; this applies to all Class 5 conductor cross-sections! The stranded wires should not be twisted! Insert the stripped wire fully into the contact cavity with firm pressure. Ensure that all of the stranded wires enter the contact cavity!

2. Insert the appropriate torque wrench (SW 4) into the axial screw from the mating side and turn it in a clockwise direction. Counter the axial screw with a spanner (SW 11). Now tighten the axial screw with the appropriate tightening torque!

3. Push the cable, along with the installed axial screw contact, through the connector of the Han® GND housing. Press the contact into the Han® GND module. The contact is securely engaged with an audible click.

Protection against the unintended opening of the GND connector (optional)
1. Plug the unlocking protection in above the housing, in order to avoid unintended unlocking (the connector can now only be opened with a tool).

2. In order to remove the unlocking protection, insert a slot screwdriver (e.g. 0.8 x 4 mm) into the slot provided and push the unlocking spring upwards. In this way, you can remove the unlocking protection with your finger.
