H05V-K single core cable – the core for a perfect connection
H05V-K single cores are used in electrical installations for connecting main circuits. The cable cross-section determines the current-carrying capacity of the wire. In addition, a distinction is made between rigid and flexible single cores.
The flexible H05V-K single core is mainly used when mobile consumers must be connected or for wiring controller systems on plants and machines.
H05V-K single core – Unbeatable in construction and design
The construction of H05V-K single cores consists of finely stranded copper conductors made of bare copper wires according to stranded conductor class 5 pursuant to IEC60228/VDE0295.
The core insulation is made of PVC. The wires are self-extinguishing and flame-retardant according to IEC 60332-1-2 and can therefore also withstand high temperatures.
To facilitate removal and installation of the H05V-K stranded wire, it is supplied with a total length of 100 m in a handy, practical cardboard box. The cables are also available in many different colours, such as black, blue, green/yellow, brown, grey, dark blue, ultramarine blue, yellow, green, orange, pink, red, purple and white.
What does the designation H05V-K mean?
The letters and numbers in the product designation help to determine the correct core cable for the individual applications. The letters specify the cable’s properties and the materials used; the numbers stand for the number of cores and their size. The H05V-K core cable can be translated as follows:
- H – harmonised cable designation, the type identification is valid throughout Europe in accordance with the (HAR) DIN standard VDE0281/0282/0292
- 05 - designates the rated voltage, here the approval for 300V between the outer conductor and the earth potential (PE), and 500 V between the outer conductors
- V – wire or core insulation made of PVC, heat resistant of up to + 70 °C
- K – fine wire, i.e. flexible, for fixed installations
Areas of application of Lapp H05V-K single core cables
The cores are available with a nominal cross-section of 0.5 mm², 0.75 mm² and 1.0 mm². In this way, they provide optimal wiring solutions in switch cabinet, plant and appliance manufacturing, in terminal boxes and for internal appliance wiring.
The H05V-K stranded wire can be installed in variety of applications and guarantees protected routing in and on lamps as well as for signal systems on and under plaster, in conduits and in closed installation ducts.
What is the difference between h05v-k and h07v-k wires?
The difference between the two cables is the rated voltage. H05V-K single cores are used for a rated voltage of 300/500V in single-phase alternating current circuits. The H07V-K single core cable is approved for a rated voltage of 450/750 V and therefore it can also be used in three-phase circuits.
