Ölflex Classic 110 – Versatile and robust wire
The Ölflex Classic 110 wire is one of the most frequently used connection and control cables. Due to its many good properties, this VDE-registered wire is suitable for a wide range of applications. It can be used for rated voltages up to 300/500V. The test voltage is 4000V, which indicates a high level of insulation safety.
In contrast to the similar Ölflex Classic 100 wire, the cores of the Lapp Ölflex Classic 110 are identified by numbers instead of colours. The identification code of the cores complies with VDE 0293-334. It is used in machine and plant manufacturing, in heating and air conditioning technology, and in painting systems and power plants, including wind and solar installations. The cable is suitable for use in dry, damp or wet spaces. The jacket of the Ölflex Classic 110 always has a grey colour, similar to RAL 7001.

Properties of the Ölflex Classic 110 cable
In comparison to other connection and control cables, the Ölflex Classic 110 wire has an extended temperature range. This is dependent on the movement situation of the cable.
- In a fixed installation, the permissible temperatures range from -40°C to +80°C.
- If there is occasional movement, temperatures from 15°C to +70°C are possible.
In a fixed installation, the minimum bend radius is 4 times the outer diameter. The Ölflex Classic 110 wire is also oil resistant in accordance with the DIN EN 50290-2-22 standard and resistant to many chemicals. The Ölflex Classic 110 wire is flame retardant according to IEC 60332-1-2:
All properties at a glance:
- On the Lapp Ölflex Classic 110 wire both the jacket and the core insulation are made of PVC.
- The variety of cores is remarkably large: The range extends from 2 to 100 cores.
- The core sizes can be from 0.5 mm2 to 35.0 mm2.
- There are variants with and without a protective conductor.
- The cores are all made of finely stranded copper wire.
- Stranded wire with cross-sections of up to 2.5 mm2 are used in wires with up to 65 cores. Cross-sections larger than 4 mm2 are found in wires with 2 to 7 cores.
Overview of all ÖLFLEX cables
ÖLFLEX series | Jacket | Properties | Available number of cores |
ÖLFLEX Classic 100 | PVC | Colour-coded standard cable 300/500V or 450/750V. Cores are colour-coded. | 2-5 |
ÖLFLEX Classic 110 | PVC | Standard cable & absolute classic in the range of Ölflex control cables. The cores are labelled with numbers and not by colour. | 2-100 |
ÖLFLEX Classic 110 Black | PVC | Black sheath and good suitability for outside use (UV and weatherproof). | 1-50 |
ÖLFLEX Classic 400 P | PUR | Proven cable thanks to its excellent resistance capabilities, both mechanically and chemically. | 2-42 |
ÖLFLEX Classic 115 CY | PVC / sheathed | By omitting a PVC inner sheath, the cables are lighter and thinner than normal wires. | 2-34 |
ÖLFLEX FD 90 | PVC / cable-track capable | Single code sheathed cable. Highly flexible. | 1 |
ÖLFLEX Classic FD 810 | PVC / cable-track capable | Suitable for moderate to increased travel or accelerations as a result of good properties in terms of dynamism. | 2-65 |
ÖLFLEX FD 855 CP | PUR / shielded | EMC-suitable and less liable to interference from the environment thanks to copper shielding. | 2-36 |
ÖLFLEX FD 855 P | PUR / cable-track capable | Suitable for installation in energy chains that work in harsh industrial environments, as the cable is very elastic (no shielding). | 2-41 |
ÖLFLEX Control TM | PVC | Characterised by increased torsion resistance. Best solution for mechanical engineers who need wires with certifications in accordance with US standards. | 3-25 |
