Ölflex Classic FD 810 – Durable wire for power track chains
This wire is ideally suited for many applications in cable drag chains. It features high flexibility and good properties in terms of dynamics. Lapp classifies it as “Core Line Performance”. This is the manufacturer’s middle performance level between Basic Line and Extended Line. “Middle” here in no way implies that it is mediocre. Instead, the Ölflex Classic FD 810 is suitable for medium to increased travel lengths or accelerations. The Lapp FD 810 is the right choice for cases where the requirements are not too extreme. Because this cable has been a proven performer for many years, it is one of Lapp’s most popular connection and control cables.
Versatile wire for moving applications
The typical application areas of the Ölflex FD 810 include, in particular, machines of all types as well as measuring, control and regulation technology. It can be used in drag chains or on moving machine parts. It can also be used on production and assembly lines. This wire may be used in both dry and wet environments. The wire can be used outdoors as long as UV protection is available and the temperature limits are observed. In moving applications, the permissible temperature ranges from 0°C to 70°C. Thus, it is suitable for frost-free outdoor use with UV protection.
Consistently designed for easy manoeuvrability
Lapp designed the Ölflex Classic FD 810 for frequent and extensive movement. This includes a flexible and durable PVC jacket. Due to the low-adhesion surface, the wires slide easily against one another. This is crucial when using several of these wires in a chain. The cores of this wire are finely stranded according to the conductor classes of IEC 60228. This design also supports the manoeuvrability of the Ölflex 810. The result is demonstrated in the excellent bend radius values. For example, the minimum bend radius for moving applications is a relatively low 7.5 times the outer diameter (OD). In a fixed installation it is 4 x OD. For comparison: Other proven wires from Lapp, such as the Ölflex Classic 100 and the Ölflex Classic 110, require 15 x OD in moving applications or cable drag chains.
This Ölflex cable,classified as “Core Line Performance”, enables travel lengths up to 20 m and accelerations up to 20 m/s2. With Basic Performance, this performance data is 10 m/5 m2. Extended Performance cables permit travel distances of up to 50 m or 100 m, and accelerations of up to 50 or 80 m/s2. The Ölflex Classic FD 810 always ensures several million bending cycles. These vary depending on the ambient temperature, wire diameter and travel distances.
Large selection of core numbers and cross-sections
The Ölflex FD 810 is designed for rated voltages of 300/500 V. The test voltage is 4000 V. There are numerous versions with and without a protective conductor. The range includes cross-sections of 0.5 to16 mm2 as well as 2 to 65 cores. The selection of light wires with cross-sections of up to 1.5 mm2 is particularly large. Each version is a time-tested, durable and affordable connection and control cable for moving applications
