H05RN-F connection cable – for a safe and flexible connection
The harmonised rubber-sheathed cable H05RN-F is the perfect solution when it comes to securely connecting small technical devices to the power supply. This cable is predominantly used in private homes or in industrial installationsthat expect a light to medium mechanical stress. The rubber cable is also perfect for use in kitchensbecause the robust material of the outer sheath can come into contact with oil and grease, without any decline in quality or condition. Thanks to the materials that make the H05RN-F cable flexible, it can be used both in dry and wet rooms and outside.
However, the H05RN-F cable is not suitable for permanent use outside. If you need a rubber cable for this, you can, for example, fall back upon cables of the type H07RN-F.
What does H05RN-F mean?
The type designation H05RN-F tells you many of the properties of the cable. The letter H says that it is a harmonised cable. The sequence of numbers 05 indicates the nominal voltage. The H05RN-F cable has a nominal voltage of 300 V between the conductor and the earth and 500 V between the phase conductors. The letter R stands for the core insulation made of rubber and the letter N indicates that the sheath is also made of rubber. The suffix -F means that the stranded wire is made of fine-wire copper wire.
The cable H05RN -F can be translated as follows:
- H – harmonised cable designation, the typification is valid throughout Europe in accordance with the (HAR) standard DIN VDE0281/0282/0292
- 05 - refers to the nominal voltage, here the approval for 300 V voltage between the phase conductor and the earth potential (PE) and a 500 V voltage between the phase conductors
- R – insulation material: rubber
- N – sheath material: chloroprene rubber
- F – type of conductor; fine-wire in the case of wires for permanent installation
- 2 – number of cores
- X – without a green and yellow protective conductor
- 1 – conductor cross-section in mm²
Structure of the H05RN-F connection cable
The cores of the H05RN-F rubber-sheathed cable are in layers and are made of fine-wire, bare copper in accordance with VDE 0295. The core insulation is made of flexible rubber and has excellent dynamic properties. The thermal properties of the cable allow it to be used in a temperature range from -25°C to +60°C. For installation indoors, the H05RN-F cable has flame-retardant properties; outside, the cold-resistant and UV-resistant properties ensure that the material and thus the function of the cable are preserved. The approved nominal voltage is 300 V between the phase conductor and the earth potential and 500 V between the phase conductors.
Areas of application of the cable H05RN-F
The Lapp connection cable is primarily used in smaller installations and works, e.g. in electrical appliances in a private home or in industry. It is used both on small electrical appliances in a home or in offices, on hand-held inspection lamps and on fairy lights and electrical decorations. It is also suitable for use as a construction cable and provides a reliable connection. The heat-insulating material, chloroprene rubber, is the material Neopren®, which is mainly known in the automotive industry and in the clothing industry in the sports sector.
