Submersible pump cable H07RN8-F from Lapp
The task of a submersible pump is to remove dirty water from flooded cellars, swimming pools, ponds and excavations. An H07RN8-F submersible pump cable is therefore used in order to connect electrical equipment flexibly in industrial water, provided it is not flowing. For these applications with high loads, the H07RN8-F submersible pump cable from Lapp ensures a perfect connection to the electricity. The cable is designed specifically for connecting the motor to submersible pumps and for applications permanently submerged in water. If cables & wires are used as H07RN8, the so-called application standard must be observed.

Features of H07RN8-F cables
The H07RN8-F submersible pump cable can be used in water of depths of up to 10 metres. The threads in the cable are blank copper wires and correspond to a fire-core wire structure according to VDE 0295, class 5. For better allocation, the cores are colour-coded according to VDE 0293-308. While the core insulation is made from a durable rubber mix, the rubber of the outer jacket corresponds to type EM2. With a minimum bend radius moved of 8.0 x outer diameter and permanently installed 4.0 x outer diameter, the cables & wires are suitable for flexible applications without priority control and without tension relief and withstand high loads both in warm and cold water. The rubber cable can be used in the temperature range moved of -25° C to 60° C and moved in water temperatures to 40° C. In terms of fire behaviour, the cable is flame-resistant and has self-extinguishing qualities. The outer diameter of the submersible pump cable H07RN8-F is from 9.2 – 11.9 mm. Thus the respective right size can be selected.
What does H07RN8-F mean?
The product designation of the submersible pump cable comprises letters and numbers that aid selection of the appropriate cable for the respective application. The qualities attributed to the cable and the materials used are specified by the letters. The numbers represent the number of cores and their thicknesses. The H07RN8-F cable can be interpreted as follows:
- H – Harmonised cable designation, the type designation is applicable Europe-wide according to (HAR) standard DIN VDE0281/0282/0292
- 07 - specifies the rated voltage, here the approval for 450V between outer conductor and earth potential (PE) and 750 V between outer conductors
- B – insulation material: Rubber
- N8 – Special polychloroprene-rubber mix, water-resistant
- F – Wire type; fine-core in wires for permanent installation
Application areas of the H07RN8-F cable
Main areas of application of the Lapp submersible pump cable H07RN8-F are plant construction and shipbuilding. Thanks to its durability, the cable is used here in submersible pumps, machine tools and mechanical systems. The cable is suitable both for dry and damp rooms, as well as outside, here both in indoor and outdoor swimming pool facilities. Underwater use is only permitted according to EN 50565-2 where there is not water traffic or shipping, i.e. the body of water is not moving (standing water), therefore possible mechanical damage cannot occur either.
